Mobile Bay Reef Keepers

Hello, my name is Zack and I'm new.

I live in Tuscaloosa, AL, and attend the Univ. of AL. I am buying a 65 gallon tank from my buddy, and I want to start a reef. I've done freshwater for the last 10 years or so, and I've always wanted to do sw. Well, I figured this would be a great place to find information, and to meet people interested in the same thing.

Right now I have a 46 gallon bowfront with a bunch of cichlids. I can't wait to get teh 65!

Thanks everyone!

Right now I'm trying to figure out my lighting setup. It's going to be in a 65 gallon tank, and I can't decide if I want to go with just VHO's or a combo of MH's and VHO's. I'm leaning toward the combo, b/c I like the shimmering effect made by the MH's. I basically know nothing about lighting, so if you want to suggest brands or models, I'd love to have your input.
