That is just too dangerous, great save though. That is really risky but I guess if you know how much damage you can do, and also probably do the repairs yourself.

Yeah, we used to do this all the time back home. It is actually not that dangerous for the driver, it's the spotter and the crowd that normally get hurt. When a tire is spinning that fast and catches a loose rock you can imagine what can happen. Also, when U-joints,driveshafts,winch cables, and ring and pinoins come unglued, they make for some pretty nasty shrapnel. That is for sure one bad ass rigg though!!!!

My idiot friend in Arizona did that stuff. It's amazing what those guys can put together. They are mainly just tubular steel frames with whatever powertrain the builder thinks is best. There is a lot of $$$ tied up in those things.

We had a guy blow over $50,00 just on chassis and suspension, tires wheels(4 sets mounted) winches, etc. He was a high risk bail bondsman who was apparently pretty good at it. After he finished his build, he decided he needed a tow rig. So he went out and bought a brand new Kenworth auto with custom 50'aluminum trailer. He ended up moving out west so he could follow the ARCA series. Must be nice???
