How long are they? If there is room above the bio-balls in my sump I may take a few off of your hands.

If he doesn't I could sell you some of mine, I have far more now than I need. Here is an idea also, how about trading some of those zoas I like of yours for some of the socks. If you like that idea, let me know how many you need.

Just wondering how often everyone else has to change these? I have to change them weekly now, was every third day to start with. Is this normal, or are my fish just "dirty"?

I try to change them once a week but have gone longer. Mine seem to last about 3 weeks before they overflow but I don't suggest using them for that long.

Karen I will for sure try and frag those zoas between now and then for you.

Sounds like a winner to me.

I just went filter-bag free yesterday, we'll see how that goes. Does anyone know how to "in-service" partition a large (75G) sump?? I still have a small problem with bubbles.

Can try taking a 5g bucket and drilling lots of holes in it near where the water line in your sump is and let the water drain in there first.

Havent tried it but I would think it would work.

that might be the trick... I tried a 5 gallon bucket (no holes), but it sounded like a large waterfall (I'm pushing 3000gph)!!!

I saw a thread for a "muffler" to use on sump drains in the diy forum on RC the other day. Looked like it used a lot of little parts like bioballs and such but suppose to work real good.

3000gph through the sump will be hard to quiet though.

yeah, the noise level definitely went up... I just hate cleaning filter socks... especially since my wife banned me from using the washer... I guess she'll have to put up with the noise level now heh.
