Every night the same time, this BIG ruby crab comes out and walks up and down the front glass. It is a hoot to watch him.

It's odd our emerald crabs grow, but nothing like the speed of growth the ruby do. They look like the terminator crabs

ShagMan, come over some day and fish one of these monsters out if you want one. They have started killing the little guys off they are that big.

Wowsah... I can definitely take on a few, I have no small crabs other than some hermits, so wouldn't hurt my tank at all... we mysteriously lost all of ours a year or so back and never replenished. They're cute when they "put up their dukes" when fish come by Remind me, and I'll get some of 'em from you if they can be caught.

But did they do this dance on the front like this silly thing does? I just find it to be very odd, maybe it isnt, that's what I am in need of knowing?

Mine were actually very shy, normally hiding under and behind the rock, never saw any dances.

I have to say, I never saw mine ever get onto the sand, they were usually hanging out under some rock, or where you couldn't see them well... exception was when I feed, they would come out where I could see 'em. But I have never seen one on the sand against the glass like that!

Ok Shagman, gotta know, are the crabs doing the dance in your tank too? And if so, isn't it the wildest thing you ever saw?

haven't seen it yet... they disapeared after the 2nd day... I keep looking for them tho! Dunno about these two, but in the past my emeralds have been VERY shy, hard to find.
