I had a nice red blasto with a green ring in the center that didn't make it in jenns tank. I got it from a local guy in a big frag swap. I was just wondering if anyone had any in the area that is willing to frag them at some point.

Shawn and I both had the same one and neither made it through Ivan. I haven't seen one like it since. That was one of my best frags.

it makes me mad because it did make it through ivan but i lost it in trying to get everything into jenns tank and she asked me last night were it was. It was her favorite coral. Oh well. I'm sure one of us will come across more sometime hopefully.

It's kind of hard to tell but the first one looks like the one I lost. It looks like the flash might have washed out the red on that picture. Here is a picture of one of mine that died.

It looks like it might be the same one. This is probably the best one I have of it, I will try tomarrow to take a better-newer one of it.

yea that red and green one is the one we had. It was an extremely fast grower and i had fragged it to put a piece in my tank. If you ever want to frag it we would like to get a piece.

we are not in a rush, I just got my tank yesterday and it will be 2 or 3 months before i am able to put anything it is.
Jenns tank is still acting funky. None of the zoanthids are opening yet and its been what 3+ weeks. Her torch just died yesterday. From testing the water everything seems fine. I can't put my finger on the problem. She was only without power for 4 days and the only thing that looked realy bad was the cuke and i took it out. So if some day down the line it gets to the point where you want to frag it let us know.

a blasto is like a mini brain coral, it would take forever for it to crawl onto another rock.. best get out the dremel

or hammer and chisel. Thats how i split the one we had. It works if you aren't worried about losing a polyp, and actually the areas that i cut through grew back rather quick. They seem like a hardy coral.
