1 and 1/2 years old and finally starting to mature. I dont have enough money to spend on the fully grown corals so I just buy frags and watch them grow. I know they are small now, but I guess thats half the fun for me...watching them grow.

Here's my setup:
75G AGA
20G Sump from walmart
-2 250W Ushio 10k
-2 110W Coralife Actinics
-1 unidentified skimmer that works well when you supplement it with a wooden diffuser
-3 maxijet 900's
-1 rio 3000 for return
-1 rio 800 for skimmer

Corals (I dont know the scientific names for most):
Gonipora aka flowerpot
Some Zooanthids aka zoo's
Hammer
Frogspawn
A tiny Acorapora frag
Purple star polups
A mushroom that is starting to split (cant get that badger song out of my head now;)

There is also one anemone that apears to be splitting as well. He wont eat today so I think his energy is being put toward the split. Very interesting. I put a Red Mangrove in the sump and ALL my green algae problems went away within 6 weeks.

Fish and crusties:
-Wolf eel
-Spotted grouper
-Huma picasso
-Lionfish
-Clown tang
-Coral banded shrimp. How thing guy has survived this long in this tank full of hungry predators is beyond me.
-Horseshoe crabs
-Varios snails and hermits

Here are some pics:

Thanks man. I love taking pictures of the tank. Hopefully in 6 months the corals will be a bit bigger and I will post pics again. The first year sucked, but now that I am getting the hang of it, its a very rewarding hobby.

That triger does not seam to bother any of them corals. My wife wonts a tank with agressive fish but I was told you could not keep corals with them. How are your corals doing?

I believe the reason you cant keep them with corals because they are active and clumsy. They bump into a lot of things including the corals. I have never seen him even think about nibbling on them. All the fish in my tank are aggressive carnivores except for the clown tang, most of them I was told you cannot keep with corals. I think the key is to have lots of room and from my pics you can see I have that. Maybe when the corals start to grow out I will run into problems but for right now they all seem to be thriving...yes including the gonipora.

Oh also wanted to say that in my opinion, agressive fish are the way to go. They just seem to have more personality.

I would think the problem with agressive fish in a reef tank would be that you can't really have any sort of a clean up crew. If you go with a deep sand bed, wouldn't it get pretty funky after a while.

Beautiful Clown tang, I'd have one if I didn't already have a sohal, but I just know those two wouldn't exactly be best of buds.

Your right brandon. My snails are escargo now for the trigger. For cleanup of the rocks, the tang is doing a great job. I have ordered an adult goldheaded sleeper gobie which will be as big as any other fish in my tank right now, and he will clean up the dsb. I had one before but he was under a year old and was a $40 meal for my eel. I will let you know how the adult fares.

Oh and the horseshoe crabs stir up the bed also. I guess they dont have a very good taste to them.

It ought to be interesting when all those fish get huge in a 75 Gal. I would think agressive would be an understatement. :)

By the time they start to get big, my house will be built and they will be swimming in a 300-500 in wall tank.
