I have a small 55g tank, with a msall group of corals, frogspawn, ricorda, mushrooms (a few differnt) some different polyp colony, and some other items starting to grow on my rock, too small to tell. But Xenia will not live in this tank, I just tried a 2nd time with a small frag... I aclimated it for over 2 hours, was happy as can be when the lights went out lastnight and today they are hunched over and the polyps are closed and never opened up today and almost brownish... it hasnt started falling apart yet, the trunks still look pretty good, but I can tell it will only be time before those start... I really have no clue, PH is about 8.1, salinity at 1.022... nitrate/nitrite/ammonia are not even readible, no phosphates.

Just cant figure out why xenia wont live :(

Count yourself lucky!

Seriously... just keep trying, you'll get "unlucky" soon.

I've had my xenia melt before but it always comes back. I keep my salinity about 1.024 and I don't check my ph much. I also set a tank for a friend and her xenia I brough her melted but came back later. I just stick it in the tank without acclimating it. I'm sure you can get plenty of xenia from the members so keep on trying.
