Mobile Bay Reef Keepers

I don't know if we just have an active couple of star fish, but each time I do any cleaning to the tank, I find dozens of baby star fish. To small to know what kind. Anyone else have this?

Are they white with irregular arms? I have a lot of hitch hikers stars in my tank along with a lot of small britle stars.

White with long arms. If they opened fully they mightbe the size of a dime and that is stretching it.

They probably just came in on your live rock. I have some like that.

It sounds like the good kind. I added some to my tank but I haven't seen any since.

Phisher has zillions in his 75G. But I bet the harlequins are putting a huge dent in the population.

He can bring me as many as he can get, that might put a dent in his population as well.

Harly has wipped them out. I can hardly find any. I was going to ask someone to bring me some.

ok, just looked it up, that's a cute little guy. What else eats these little stars. I sure want to give them a chance at maturing.

Nothing else seemed to bother them, they multiply like a plague.

Fair warning, they did eat a small star polyp colony and I found them "spooning" my zoas when they were closed.

The stars do this? oh my, and to think I thought they were so cute! Nothing cute about that or when Billy reads this forum tomarrow. His 2nd favorites are the Zoas. Ug I have so much to learn.

I dont think they actually "ate" the zoas, just parked on top of them.
I have 4 types growing well with no apparent ill effects from them, just very odd I guess.
But they consumed the star polyps as I gazed on in wonder.

Too bad they dont eat xenia.
