Wish I had known this years ago

Regarding soap... one of the commandments etched in stone at labs that work with delicate marine organisms is to never use any glassware that has ever been washed in soap. Never.....

It dissolves many of the membranes of delicate animals.

so what do ya do ? use flensy plastic forver and alway dispose of them? and hw do ya know that the plastic does not carry soap...........this is tooo confusing please help ME

I think that is too nuts to even consider. I am sure your hands absorb soap to, so if you have ever washed your hands with soap they cannot go in the tank ? Some of these bean counters take this shit too seriously i think.

If you cant use soap How do you suppose clean the inside glass of your tank? I like the copper brillow pads that already have the soap in them to get the algae off the glass. :twisted:

Something in the plastic absorbs something in the soap ard can release it later. I have used plastic for years, who knows.
