Got to be better than the PITA it will be to keep these tanks alive this long. Of course that will just remain to be seen. I guess if i can keep water flow somehow they will be ok. Not sure though. If light is the biggest problem then i could do water changes to keep the levels in check. Not sure how long a tank can go without light. Scott says quite a while.

I hope every body did okay. We sure got lucky. I only had one tree that fell and ripped my power line off the side of the house. I am so relieved, now time for the clean up. Here some after photos. I'm sure glad I put those 2x4s up.

I'm alive but that's about all I can say right now. My wife, the kids and I are staying at my mom's house because she has power and I needed to help her with the clean up at her house. I have been home and only had a dozen or so shingles off, a fence blew down, some water damage to an interior wall and a whole lot of debris in my yard. Everything in the tank was still alive. I had a battery back up that was made for a server that ran an air pump with a few air stones. The batteries were dead by the time I was able to get home today. I had another smaller UPS that I took the battery out of (it was dead) and hooked it up to a dep cycle battery so that I could at least keep the DO up. Today the tank temp was 77 degrees but I am worried about what will happen tomorrow when it gets hotter than today. Tomorrow I will go back to clean my yard and recharge my battery. I do have some ice packs but they don't last long. I will keep everyone updated.
For those that offered to help I really appreciate it. If I had had the time to take you up on the offer I certainly would have but I had 3 houses to prepare for the storm and only a limited amount of time to evacuate my family.
I would like to hear from some of the people farther east. We (in Mobile) got very lucky but it was at the expense of others. I hear that Max was working today even though he descrobed Baldwin county as looking like a war zone.

No losses here, had some internal water damage due to vinyl siding. We lost 20 foot of privacy fence, pictures coming. The battery powered airpumps lasted forever on just one d battery, and they can hold two. THe inverter also helped keeping the main pumps going. I also ran the laptop going to keep my boredom down playing UT 2004.

We came out like champs, lost a few chunks of vinyl and a single SPS. Power was out for only about 10 hours.

We left on Tuesday and just got back today about 5:00pm and found no damage to the house, just a lot of debris around the house. We walked into the house and it smelled like dead fish. The power looked like it had just came back on. We lost most of the tank. All of the fish but two small perks that were in the sump. List of losses: Regal blue tang, scooter blenny, yellow tang, gold strip maroon clown, cleaner shrimp, coral banded shrimp, 2 feather dusters, lots of copapods and bristle worms, everything else in the tank looks sick right now so there is probably more but for now that is all that I have pulled out. We also lost most of the food in the fridge and freezer. I was thankful nothing happened to the house or to us, but I am very upset about the tank. We have a generator, but a lot of good it did us since we were not here to get it turned on.
