Field trip

Yes we have peperment shrimp. There is no limit on them. You can use just about anything to catch them, net, slurp gun, big clear plastic container just about anything you can think of will probably work. I have gotten them in the daytime but I would think they would be easier to find at night.

Sorry but I didn't see that you posted. The place we are going is about 2 miles from Where 59 hit the beach. When you get to the T turn right and go until you get to the little bridge that goes over the lagoon pass. It's called west pass. The parking lot is on the right when you get to the bridge. You will see the restrooms. I'm not sure on the time yet but it will probably be around 8:30 to 9:00. It needs to be good and dark. Bring a flash light, and a net or clear plastic jug to catch them in. Don't forget to bring something to take them home in too. Hopefully i'll get a uv light I ordered in time to use it this weekend. On regular shrimp the eyes will glow when you shine a light at them. I not sure about pepermint shrimp but I would think they would do the same. I might even bring some snorkeling gear too. How many people are coming?ShagMan wrote:Snakeman, how far away is this place at? What equipment do we need to bring? I'm down!

Great, that really will be your best bet.
Here is a pic of a little friend we got from there. He is so friendly,
as soon as I come to the tank, he comes right to the glass. If I take
pics, he dances at the glass. Get this, he even comes to my hand
inside the tank. Odd for being caught in the wild just last weekend.

If you're near any dive shops, can you get some straps for my fins?
Oh, wait, never mind, I don't know where my snorkeling gear is...
Not since we moved anyways.

Im going to Ft Pikens tonight. How deep should I go out near the jetties to catch the critters? Should I make a couple of coke bottle traps? what type of bait should i use? I am thinking about building a simple collection device out of PVC pipe...think it will work?
