What I have been doing lately is buying an entire rock, then taking a hammer and splitting the whole colony among 3 tanks. This cuts the cost down for buying something for all 3 tanks. Plus this also adds some redudancy that if one smaller frag dies in one tank it will grow back in the others.

Thats a good idea also but i'm not always up for paying $40 to $50 for an entire colony when i can get a frag between $5 to $10. I recently bought a little branching bubble coral for $6 at aquaworks. It only had 3 little polyp clusters and didn't look too great. That thing is growing so fast now. The other reason i don't like buying the expensive stuff is if it dies. I recently traded some stuff in for a $70 Hammer. It lasted 3 weeks and then just died. Fortionatly i didn't pay for it. The only problem is that you can't get a frag of a normal hammer coral(non branching). If i lose a $10 dollar frag oh well, if I lose a $50 colony i feel like crap. Thats one thing about trading with fellow reefers. You know that the stuff has been thriving in their tank in order to grow large enough to trade. Some of that stuff that comes into a store you never know what its been through and how healthy it is. I guess that is why i really like to just take my chances on frags.

Yeah,I know Tim and Dave personally.I think Tim did alot better when he was by himself from the beginning. He didnt really have as good of a dry good thing as they do now but who cares. He always had corals.Dave is a real asshole and he isnt very good with the customers either.I dont think Dave will do very good.He sure ran alot of good customers away and they will only come into the store when Dave isnt around. As for Tims new location Im pretty sure it is going to be next door to cc's pizza on 9th ave.I am suppose to help him set up and build the cabinets for the new store.Oh well Tim will do alot better business without the headache of having Dave around.Remember Tim has owned the store going on 10 years and Dave has only been in the picture a couple.Thats got to say something for Tim.Good buy to dave

I will visit both I am sure, the more the merrier. If Rich would do normal 8am-5pm or get prices on the corals I would go there and shop still. It's hard to make decisions on what to buy when nothing is priced.

You know I see that across the board here in pensacola. All of the shops have things that have no price tags on except waterworld... and then their prices are too high to even consider even buying anything. I will visit both new stores but have a feeling that one of the two will not last too long. I don't think that there is a big enough market for 5 saltwater stores here. What will determine things is price, selection, customer service and knowledge. I feel that waterworld will not be going anywere any time soon(people still buy stuff there at the jacked up prices), and i think Reefscapes is in it for the long hual with all of their accounts and remodeling of the store.

no idea, just talked to him last night.. They won't have much in the old store for the rest of the month. They want to sell thier livestock before they split stuff up. He wants to be open the first week in march. Said he was going to have a computer in store for group orders and stuff?? and to look things up. I'm interested to see what he does with the place by himself. Lets see if it is like reefers and they jack the price up once they get a new building.

reefers should have never left the old store. I liked that one so much better and thier prices were better. That shop in Seville square is one thing that killed them. I've been in that shed before.. I can't picture it being a store?? Thats going to be a major downgrade for them.

Yeah they should of stayed at the store on garden street,I liked the indoor pond they had in there.I guess they bit off more than they could chew on that one to have to move across the street from the shit plant in the storage building. What are they doing with that half circle tank in the front of the store,I sure would like it.

well i know both of them and tim is keeping the name aqua works and dave is naming his store aquaria....now for my 2 cents ..i know that dave likes sps so i think that he will have a good selection of that as well as lps and softies ...tim is hard core sps which is not a bad thing so he does have a very good knowledge on things ...but dave likes to have dry goods on hand which tim likes to order in ....of my self when i look for dry goods i need it now not two weeks from now ....dave does take some getting use to but he is always stright forward with you ....i have asked tim the price of something and been told one thing only to ask him 5 min later and be told something different ....i have also asked the price of an item after i heard him tell someone else the price and for me it was 10,20 or even 30 $ more and its not like i havent spent alot of my hard earned cash i there i would think the price would be the same ....and as for cjps67's comment that dave is an a** hole i think your wrong just because you are friends with tim you shouldnt try to make dave look bad because you dont like him and from the way you said things looks to me like you wish him to fail which is not nice so i think that you are the a** hole here .....and as for what i have said about tim that is just what has happened to me ....and i hope that they both do well ...and i will buy from both if they have what i want ...

It might sound bad what I wrote but I didnt mean it as that.I meant dave has been a asshole to alot of good customers of Tims and they refuse to come up there because of the way Dave acts.America is great(Freedom of Speach).

I was in Tim's new store today. It's located in the same building as CC's pizza (9th and crieghton). He was in the process of getting the back glass on his tanks painted. Also painting his cabinets. He said give him about a week and he'll be open for business. He was talking about a lot of frag trading and such to get the supply up. It's a good location and I think he'll do great. Can't wait for it to open!
