Could you explain in more depth. I joined the pogo club so that I didn't get all those ads. Do they still get past the firewalls ect?

I don't have a problem with ads and pop-ups on Pogo. I employ a bevy of appz and the host file to control those. But their entire site, with all the "new" windows that have to open, requires so much ram that it hampers the normal operation of the machine. Then when you log off the site, the ram is not released, therefore, you have to reboot to clear if you're not running a gig of memory.
Speaking of ads and firewalls, Explorer will allow a number of ads by default. When you allow Explorer to pass through the firewall, you are, in essence, allowing the ads. A good host file will cure a lot of that. Ask Kevin where to get it. I used to know, but don't anymore. However, I will be happy to email mine to anyone who wants it. Just tell me what OS you're using.
As far as Ebay ... I'm not a very trusting person. Plus I have heard too many horror stories. I work too hard for my money. Most peeps don't have a bit of trouble. But I can assure you, I would be the one that gets F*#@&%d.

I wrote an executable that connects to there site, then downloads the hosts file and overwrites what is in your c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc directory if you are interested. I just put it in the Windows scheduler for once a week.
