You could make a section for freshwater and I have noticed a few people have posted about other types of pets. You could make a post for them titled Other Pets.

freshwater to reef is a natural progression in the hobby IME. I think having a freshwater fish area would be fine.

I for one have a 180 gallon freshwater cichlid tank!

I say go for it, they are part of the whole aquarium hobby. My brother has 3 FW setups and and may well use it as he has no use for a saltwater forum.

I'd say you have to bring your brother over from the Dark Side.

I have a freshwater tank but i don't think I would post much about it. I pretty much stick to posts related to dinking since i don't know much about aquariums.

I love freshwater tanks, hell freshwater is my job. So i say why not if you don't care about them then don't post in that forum.

Lets get back to the basics here.....We are Mobile Bay Reef Keepers....that is just a name...what we really are or at least have been is a group of reefers who enjoy each other and have built friendships...we are not as formal as Reef Central and I personaly do not want to be. We have kept banners and comercial sales and ads off our site the best we could. By doing all this we can still build friendships...keep the site where we can talk openly about local and internet dealers and get some good advice. As long as we keep greed and comercialism off this site I think we will be ok. The only question here is the work load on the admin of this site....it does not matter if we have freshwater section or a section on trucks....this is a friendship site really (this is why I get upset when we get flooded by comercial businesses). They were not interested when there was only 20 members. I think the admin should make the decision since they do this for free..(their decision to keep the site comercial free and honest) and it would be their time to handle the setup and upkeep. One of these days one of our members will have a business lic and we will be able to purchase all our hardware at cost. So JMO the freshwater forom is not an issue...just the time of our admin and the great job they do...I just want to take this time to thank them and let them know how much we enjoy their services....Thanks Admin.....Terry
