on the sant sifting stars, I have tried two, and haven't had any luck... as a bonus, they disentegrate and are impossible to remove in one piece after they die :( :(

On the calcium, just read up here or at reef central, it's a LONG topic, there are plenty of ways to do it... a good start would be to research abotu kalkwasser, you can buy bags of it under the guise of pickling lime, at walmart, and drip it into the tank after you've mixed it with water.

I use Kent's Turbo Calcium to raise it to 450 and then use kalk and a calcium reactor to maintain it. The liquid calcium is calcium chloride and there is some debate about how much it can be used.

I've got a sand sifting star and It does a good job keeping the sand looking clean. I've had mine for about a year now.

Ok so i look uo drippind andthis is what i found:

Slow drip (1 drop per second)
Mix the Pickling lime with my top off water.
1 tablespoon per gallon of dripping water
I can drip anytime because i have a refugium with a 24/7 light on it
Drip into a high flow area

for all you kalk experts, is there anything else i should do before i start?
