My wood craftmanship sucks IMO.

If I was finished building my Shop I would build one for you. I like building tank stands and canopies. If you are in no big hurry that Is an option.

You can look back at the thread that I posted when I was building mine, It turned out pretty good. I'm going to be helping Brandon build a stand for his 75 soon. I just built a canopy for a 43 gal hex and it turned out really good. I found a good saw mill that cuts cypress and its looks really good for tank stands. I'll post a picture of it when I get time.

How much do stands usually run? I might find the time if I can make a few bucks. I'm sure they have a good deal of markup on those things.

Even the crappy stands run pretty high IMO, here are some prices, but I don't know where this place is located, so things may be higher/cheaper there:

Jason's got some elite wood skills.

Yeah I could do it cheaper than that.

Have you ever built in hard woods ? I am preferably not wanting a stand as much as piece of furniture. Something along the lines of what liz's stand and canopy turned out to be.

Hey Kev, if you want a very nice custom made aquarium take a look at this recommendation on RC. The author of the thread is a very knowledgeable person about the entire subject of reefkeeping.
