Heres the deal. I ordered a few scarlet reef crabs and well, one of them isnt. He looks to be the same type of hermit we can pick up local on the Gulf. Ive heard some bad things about these and figure I might have to get him out. I have been given credit because of it but before I remove I just want to make sure they are bad. Shoot, Im reading in quite a few threads now that all hermits are bad. Amazing how opinions change from week to week.
Thanks for the help.

If you cannot identify it it is best to put it in the sump. It sould still do it's thing down there but won't hurt fish or corals. If you don't have a sump give it to someone who does.

just to piggy back on this topic since its about crabs, anyone one of you "big" tank guys have a few crabs to spare?
A week or so ago I had all 4 crabs die on me. I don't know if the fish got nasty with them, or I had some weird iodine spike (unlikely since I don't dose for it).
anyways I would like to snag 2 or 3 red legs, possibbly a blue.
