filter socks
This one is really for Liz I think.... where do I buy filter socks? What micron size? I'm going for a clean sump on the 240G, and I need 4 filter socks, one for each drain. I found a 50 micron at Premium Aquatics, but they're $13 each, that's more than I paid from Rich.

Kevin, that kind of filter sock won't work, it has a drawstring at the top... if you put that on the end of a drain pipe, there's nowhere for the water to go if it gets full, and that's a BAD thing when you have two mag24's running... Liz uses the same kind of sock that I do, it has a semi-rigid ring built-in at the top, with a short cloth handle that you can use to hang it with a rod of some sort.

Found them, for $4 each, thanks Liz!

P.S., here's a few tricks for sock filters...
1) get the 100 micron size. Liz and Terry both use this size on their larger aquariums.
2) filter sock getting clogged up, and doesn't come clean? Throw it in the washer, hot water, small load! It comes out 100% clean, I tried this the other day. Obviously, you want to make sure the sock is dry before returning it to service (chlorinated water), and you do NOT want to put any detergent/cleaners in with it when washing.
