I have a pair of Percs in my tank and have recently introduced a bubbletip anemone and a small open brain. The smaller of the percs nips at the the open brain and anemone all the time...I was just wondering if this will ever stop or will it be the future cause of death for the brain
I have had a Maroon clown that at no time in the last six years have we been able to introduce a anemone in to the tank... she will not leave it alone and eventually it has to be removed or she will beat it to death.
Wonder what it is going to take to get a bigger tank?????
You can't relocate the coral? If not, then you will have to decide. It will not do well with constant harassment. Depending upon the size of the anemone, the clown is probably doing little harm to it. How big is the clown compared to the anemone? In fact, damage done to sea anemone tentacles is negligible damage. The tentacles are the easiest portion of the anemone's anatomy to regenerate.
Yeah I will try to relocate it and see how it do. As far as the anemone goes, both of the clowns can stay in it, and it seems like it only nips at the base of the anemone where the tentacles start to come out.
