I'll have to make up my mind by tomorrow morning.. if its at 145 or higher coming onto land I don't know if i want to be here. If thats the case it might just be the end of a large reef tank in my house. Will downgrade to a nano or something so i don't lose as much livestock next time.

40 gallon tall
15 gallon refugium
2.5 gallon mantis tank
Newscaster on TK 101.5 said today the winds were up to 140mph when it had just went up to 115mph, I freaked out.

yea but they are still calling for a possible cat 4 when it hits land... this is going to be rough. I keep my lights off today because it was so hot in the house and have them on tonight for a few hours. I just hope that power is back on in a few days. I only have 20 gal of ass for the generator and i'm going to use it in intervals on the tank. I have the chiller that i can hook up also to keep the temps down. I hope i can keep it going because I don't want to have to sell everything(which i will do if i lose everything. I also hope I don't have another tree fall on my house. I'm scared of two in the neighbors yard.
I think we have about 8 twelve packs here and a huge mini bar for 4 of us.
I hope everyone makes it ok.
Dude did you freeze water bottles like I said, they keep a tank cool for a long time, Just throw them in the sump.

yea.. but they aren't freezing too fast. We have tons of ice and as many tupper ware containers and water bottles as i can fit in the freezer. Its taking a while to freeze all of them.
but i'm just concerned with not have power for a week and not being able to get more gas for the generator.. I figure the pump running for like 2 or 3 hours then being off for 2 hours would be fine. When the ice runs out I can use the chiller. Last yr it was 9 days but my fiances place had power back in too so i can probably freeze stuff there because she will most likely get power back quick being just down the road from Gulf Power.
If she does I'd consider taking some stuff to her place and store it in tubs with ph on for a few days.

Bah.. Red Cross Ice in bags will cool the tank down too
I have to avoid too much of the news.. Some of them go waaay to dramatic. I heard it was a 4 hours ago which it wasn't, there were reports of ivan at 150mph when it hit land which was also doodoo. The news media prey on fear big time

If you have one of the chinese models, I think they say run them a # hours max a day. Prob your best bet.
Last year, I ran mine most of the day, and turned it off at night when we slept. It gets expensive and you have to worry about where you're going to get more gas from if you run it constantly. Just my 2 cents.
