different fish at aquaworks

Post by Fishfood »

I stopped by on the way to the pool place to get my fix for today. Tim has in a Peppermint Hogfish ($110) a bit high, not sure how much they go for on line or anything and he also had an interesting butterfly fish. A Pyramid Butterfly($50 something) I read on RC that they are supposed to be one of the safest for reef tanks. Not a spectacular fish but different none the less. He also has a mimic puffer.

Yes, the pyramid butterflies are one of the most reef safe, yet hardy butterflies. They are similar in care and attittude to the schooling bannerfish or Heniochus butterflies. The only thing I would do for one of them is to be sure you feed it at least twice a day, since they have heavy caloric needs. Also, even though they are "reef safe," do watch it in case it does nibble a little, but it is rare that they do.
He also has a mimic puffer.
Do you mean some sort of puffer that mimics another fish or a pufferfish mimic, like a filefish?

I think it was a filefish. I wasn't too interested so just kind of glanced at it.
