pricey star wars memorbilia

Post by ShagMan »

So, I put down $350 on a 18" Darth Vader from Sideshow... the thing retired a few days later, a full 6+ months before they are going to ship... never having spent this much money on a collectible item, I thought I'd look around and see what else was selling for big $ on ebay... WOW, I have no freaking idea... here's some examples

Kenner Jawa action figure $4750 & $4000

lot of 280 Kenner action figures (gotta see the pic) $1146
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 5955888116

large AT-AT replica (definitely looks cool) $1149

Star Wars movie poster, circa 1977 $1802
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 3873116997

one of one ever produced autographed by George Lucas light saber $4995
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 7954517775

Stormtrooper full-size wearable custome/prop/replica $2325
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 6513725771

Darth Vader full-size wearable custome/prop/replica $4055
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 6512468245

2005 Toy Fair giveaway/press kit w/ anakin + darth vader figures $2967
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 5958938574

mid-90's large replica of a Tie Fighter $1447
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 7953664965

and not related, but weird the name Darth Vader was used long before star wars... a Zenith Darth Vader 1940's radio $2025

I don't know jack about collectibles but I would think you would have to be a nut to pay that much for some of that stuff. I probably have a ton of Star Wars stuff in my grandmother's attic from the 70's. Since they aren't in the packaging and probably have some kid mung on them so it's probably not worth the effort :P .
