Downtime

Going to just cut and paste this, doubt it will be down long but at least half an hour.

Hello,

Starting Saturday evening, January 22, 2005 at 4:00 pm PST all servers will be moved to our new datacenter location on the 19th floor of One Wilshire. We have expanded our space to over six times the size and made custom improvements, including flooring and cooling system improvements to better accommodate and increase stability of our servers. Unfortunately, this move means there will be some brief disruption of service while the servers are physically moved from the current space to the new area. We will move five servers at a time and anticipate the move to last no more than twenty minutes per server. Hopefully, we will be able to minimize that as well but want to give you a worst case scenario just in case for planning purposes. We also apologize for the late notice. There were some unexpected delays preventing us from giving as much notice as we would have liked.

The move is expected to last one day. However, it is possible we may have to spread it over a few days. If this occurs, we will notify you of the change. Again, there will be disruption only when your particular server is getting moved and this will last no more than twenty minutes. There is a server move schedule found here http://datacentermove.lunarpages.net/ with the expected date and time of move. All completed moves will be noted and the dates/times changed as appropriate continually throughout the move so you will always have the most up to date schedule possible.

As always, we have complete back ups of our system so your site is safe. There will be no problems with data loss during this move. We apologize for the inconvenience but are very excited about the improvements this will mean for our customers. Thank you for your patience during this transition.
