So, I read this article on slashdot, talking about basicly making cheap vodka taste like a mulpitle-distilled vodka, simply by filtering it with a Brita filter...

So, my question is, can't you simple filter Vodka using this method, with a loooong PVC pipe filled with GAC (I have a bag full of it from Jeff/KrazyPlace), and only have to run it through once, and have nice clean tasting Vodka?

OK, so, you can basicly just add carbon to a cheap vodka, stir occasionally, keep it for a few days like that, then pour the vodka off the carbon, and filter with something fine, like coffee filters or tissue stuffed into the small part of a funnel to catch the dust... is that pretty much it?
