Just a Heads up

I don't know if i am allowed to post this so if i am not just delete it.
As some of you know i work at B&B along with a few others on this board. So i wanted to give you guys and girls a heads up for this friday from 8-10 we are doing that friday night frenzy sale again. so just to let you guys know live stock and tanks are 10% off (if a VIP then it ends up being 25% off) everything else will be 20% (VIP 25%) it might not be worth it for some of the products but definately for the live stock.
Just wanted to let eveyone know so maybe they can get a deal or two.

We are getting in a saltwater shipment in on wednesday so there should be a good selection come friday. At least i hope there will be a good selection because i need to pick up some stuff. I am almost positive that we do have crushed coral aragonite in right now.
I also have heard through the grapevine that they might start ordering corals through a different place, and i hear the stuff will be better and hopefully cheaper. we can only hope.

Ok guys, im new to the Salt water world and live in MS, I am tired of the same 5 f/s on the coast over here. What is B&B and were is it??? And what other F/S are there around here??? I just got a 110 gal i'm trying to set up. Any place to get Live rock, corals, etc. at a good price? Any info would be greatly apreciated..

Rich at Progressive marine has the best live rock local.....very good to do business with....As for corals....get with me here in Pascagoula before you buy....I might be able to help you with some frags....another great sorce is Reefer Madness.....high end corals after you tank gets cycled good...prices seem high but service is great ...quality is great...and free shipping....his fish has always been great....you can call and talk to criss and get a better price....Slow down a little and you will save a lot of money...the storm hurt out meetings but go to one before you make too many purchases....usually frags cheap or free and lots of info.... B&B is pretty good for livestock. You need to call them or check with one of us Mobilian's before you come. You need to come on right after they get a new shipment... tues/wed (I think)

I have to give the nod to B&B for livestock, although they only have "regular" type stock, it's unusual for them to get anything other than clownfish, yellow tangs, etc... but I always feel comfortable buying livestock from them. Rich @ Progressive has the best prices on equipment, and can get all kinds of corals for semi-decent prices (he has good prices on softies too).... liverock, well, I've always had good luck getting that from other enthusiasts who are moving or getting out of the business...

Hey NM354, do we need to be there BEFORE 8pm, does the store close and then allow people to shop, or how does it work? You guys usually close at 8pm don't you?

The guys in saltwater told me they that if I would come in a few minutes before the sale, they would go ahead and box up what I wanted. Then I could just check out at 8.
It'll be good to beat the crowd. Reefers hardly ever get their stuff on sale so I imagine it'll be busy.

Yes the doors will be open the whole time but thinks will be going fast so don't wait till 9:30 to come. we just got in some really nice looking corals in yesterday and a bunch of small blue tangs and some green chromis (i had to pick up 9 of those already.) also LR is going to be on sale too so thats always a good thing.

I picked up 9 green chromis's and a yellow-eye tang for $66, sweeeeet!

the fish selection sucked, and I resent the scores and scores of baby (1" or smaller!) hippo tangs for $40....

the coral selection was much better than I had seen normally, although the prices are high.... $40 to $50 for a hand sized or smaller softie.

I thought it was cool to see Bill among the other employees selling corals and fish in the saltwater section... he looked very happy... and as he should be, it was crowded in there!

Noy impressed at all. The tank of 1" or less regal tangs, the carnation coral and the other coral prices that are double (or more) other places (like a small/medium colt of $50) reinforce the reasons I don't buy from there.

ssssshhhh, don't make the same mistake I made... I commented to Andy about the sucker who bought the carnation coral, and turns out Andy actually had just bought it

I had to explain that it had to be captively fed like his sun polyps, and should probably be kept in the shade, and on top of that really needed to be hung upside down to keep it's full shape.
