Cut it like a pizza. Take the shroom and try to cut it off the rock at the neck. That way you leave the neck there and one will grow back. Now take the shroom and place it on a plate or even better on some glass. It will be slimy but take a razor blade preferably wide and just cut it down the middle leaving some mouth on both sides. Repeat and rinse, you can cut a large one many times small ones only go into about 4 pieces. Now the hard part is putting the frags where they will not drift off into a dark corner and die. The best way i find is to make a frag tank with no dark spots for them to fall into.

Chop the little slimey turds up in to as many pieces as you can get them, and stick the little pieces on toothpicks so they don't get lost. They will grow back into a round shape with a new mouth. I don't think you could kill them if you tried by cutting them up. I have some that keep growing back on a rock I don't want them to grow on ad I can't seem to get rid of them.

I have heard that but i just have a hard time believing. I have a mind to start a bare bottom and frappe' a bunch of mushrooms and dump them in. That way i could see if all the pieces live.

The only proven method to propagating ricordia is to slice it into pieces (usually 2-4) across the center and take one piece and remove it from the other small pieces. The removed piece MUST be given away; always to the person who gives you the propagating advice.. <------- * coincidentally, me in this case *
Proven method.
WARNING! Failure to follow these quidelines EXACTLY could result in slow growth and/or loss of frag pieces.
