Vinegar
I found a new use for vinegar. These are the uses that i know of now.
1) Eroding alway calcium / cleaning fish supplies and old tanks.
2) Killing Aptasia, very quick, very lethal.
3) NEWEST - Killing flatworms, inject in small sections to the infected areas. Try not to get around corals, if possible. I killed the 40 or so i had this way this week. Using half a syringe every 3 days around the areas. They melted off the rock and died.

how does it affect your fish? I have an outbreak of planeria - everytime I suck them out, they seem to come back with a vengeance.....

oh wait, quick question - this sounds lame, but hey...
Does it matter if the vinegar is white or cider?

I'm not doing anything right now
The big thing is the die off - the toxins they release....that's the scary part....I've got my little fishy and my little shrimpy in there - last time I used flat worm exit, all my 'shrooms wilted and my Xenia started gasping and wilting....they popped right back, but the shrooms have never been the same.
I have some nice specimens of ricordia in the tank and don't really want anything damaged.
I'll have to make up some water before doing anything anyway....

I am not sure that is not the exit causing that though. I have killed much more in pods and bristleworms in a tank and the die off was not that bad. Plus i am doing this slow with vinegar. I trust the vinegar more than exit.

Oh and if all else fails using the syringe tip and poking there eyes out works well too. I had fun just stabbing them when i ran out of vinegar.

Killing flatworms with a needle is as much fun as popping plastic bubbles.

Well i am not saying drop a cup in there or anything. I am talking about a syringe full or two, this is not enough to make any type of inpact on a tank. I have done this on 3 tanks in my house will no effects what so ever. Sure you could do some major damage if you tried but doing this and waiting a day or two before doing it again will not effect PH.
