Mike's reduced the price of the 200G bucket of Oceanic salt at Waggy Tail from 69.99 to 59.99. I went ahead and got one and can't wait til my next water change to try it out.
Well, I finally ran out of IO, so I bought the 200G bucket of Oceanic salt and man is this stuff outstanding! It took about 5 seconds for my whole 5G bucket full of water to disolve and it was so clear once it did. So that's all she wrote for me. I'm an Oceanic man from here on out!

I've been using oceanic for awhile now. I used to use Tropic Marin and had to add tons of cal., mag. and buffer. Now everything stays much more stable, add much less calcium and no magensium, actually I have to be careful not to add too much calcium, cause I'd gotten in the habit of adding a certain amount every day. The only thing I found is Oceanic is a bit low on buffer, but that's easy enough. I'll certainly stick with it.
After three 55 G water changes, I honestly think that Oceanic is some good stuff. My calc/alk/mag measurements have just reached natural seawater levels or a little bit better. These were my first decent measurements in approximately 8 months. Before Oceanic, I had a tough time keeping my calcium at or above 400ppm.
I will be definitely sticking with this Oceanic salt.
I am due another water change pretty soon....did one about 3wks ago when I got back.....might do one this wk....I have several different kinds of salt in the gargage now ...at least enought for one or two changes...
