It looks good to me. I am unfamiliar with that pump and I cant tell what size drain you have but I am sure you already have the flow situation worked out. The only thing that would worry me about that setup is that the pump will need to be primed. I have often worried that a power outage may occur w...

I am running a MR2 with the dual beckett injectors with a 2" gate valve. I also am running a good size (very comparable in size to the MR2)downdraft skimmer. My pump is a sequence 5800. If I open all valves to both skimmers, I barely have enough flow for the skimmers to opperate at full potenti...

I hate to be the only 1 to disagree and mean no harm by my following statement but I think more flow is better in the sump. I have 2 skimmers in the sump that use all of a 6,000 g/h pump (and 1 is way way underdriven) so I do not want to just dribble water from the main tank. I would like to get as ...

The Red Sea Sailfin is probably the the nicest looking fish in my tank. My Sailfing became very agressive and tried to destroy every fish I put in later. I purchased a white cheek (I think also known as a gold rim) that was only 1/2 the size of the sailfin but was the 1st fish I ever seen back the s...

Yea, Scott hit the nail on the head. Same product, different company. They are 21" tubes made from a highly reflective silver containing material. I do not know how good they actually work but it will be nice to know (while on travel) that the lights are off. I have had my timer go out a couple...

Thanks for the nice comments. The tank (wood) was 898 gallons before the 4 layers of fibreglass and 3 layers of gel coat were added. Afterwards I didnt take a measurement. I plan to use 2 150 gallon sumps under the stand. The tank will continue to be a reef as I am just going to move all the existin...

If you are not a "Sky Miles" member, its 50 bucks for anything 50-79lbs. 80 bucks for anything over 80lbs. Thats the rates through Delta, I would think they are all pretty much the same. You will have all kinds of people questioning and inspecting the rock at the airport. These are not the...

My power bill jumped up over $100.00 once I converted to halides. As mentioned above, a lot of that is contributed to the AC. I have a bran new AC that I keep on 68 degrees. You can almost breath frost in the morning but once the tank lights come on, the whole house will heat up to almost 80 degrees...

In my opinion, the return should basically be based on the return pump. I personally like more flow from my sump to the tank than most. The above mentioned pumps are excellant and fairly quiet. I currently have 1 ampmaster 3k and 1 sequence 5800 on my tank. The ampmaster is a closed loop and the seq...

Unless you are just trying to make it look real pretty, you can make a housing out of an 1 1/2 "T" of PVC. You have to add reducers on each end of the "T" but it makes the becket fit real snug. Of coarse, it is not the prettiest thing I have ever seen but works just as good. Jeremy

I been pricing 200 watters. They are very expensive. A free 500 watter would be outstanding. I bet a 500 watt system would set you back at least $3,000.

I think you are right. I am now planning on running 1 on the new tank. Them suckers get very expensive once you get up above 40 watts.

After looking at the receipts, it took 8 days before I saw the Genicanthus eat. He is eating like a pig now. I guess he is trying to catch up.
