Re: I wonder how many people are still in the hobby from when this site was very popular(years ago)?
I’ve actually been out of the reef hobby since around 2016. Been doing planted freshwater only since. Probably only went for a year without a single system. In any case, more folks than you think are still around—they just don’t stop by here as often, if at all. I wasn’t sure if snoop was going to b...

Re: Site activity
Should've sent me a pm. I would've given something, as always.
Yeah, site's been extraordinarily quiet. I guess I really haven't paid attention, either. Heck, I don't even have any of my tanks anymore, so haven't really been frequenting at all.

Re: 40 Breeder Full setup + livestock FS
The livestock, rock and Vortechs have been sold. I still have premium gulf live sand chock full of organisms--about 100lbs of it-- still $50 for anyone interested. I'll hold until the end of the week and it will be trashed after that. There's enough in it that it would be a waste, though.

40 Breeder Full setup + livestock FS
**Please note that all livestock must be sold FIRST.** Parting with anything prior to livestock is non-negotiable. Livestock is simple, due to the fact that this was "rebooted" about 4 months ago. Fish: 2 - ocellaris clownfish (female is ~18 yo, male ~2 yo) free to a very good home, like p...

Seagrass available at floridapets.com
Floridapets currently has turtle grass, manatee grass, and shoal grass for sale. Anyone that wants the turtle grass needs to act quickly, as it will be out of season once these are gone. They don't offer it regularly, either.

Re: 40g Seagrass Patch Reef Build
Thanks! I'm still experimenting with what exactly will gain color under 10K halides exclusively--and not the bluer kind, like the reeflux lamps. The XMs are a harsh lamp and lots of colors tend to wash out, but intensity is substantial and so is growth. That Montipora is supposed to be green, but is...

Looks great! Would you mind posting a FTS with the white balance set like the last few photos?

Re: Looking for pod critters
I don't have an active sand bed as everything's fairly new, but I could get you a cup of mine or at least offer a price for it but I'd like to get a sample of a few things if you'd be willing to. Like I said, replacement is fine by me. I'll be due for a recharge sometime later this year, anyway, so...

Re: Looking for pod critters
Well, I have a pretty active DSB. I could spare about a 1/2 cup or so. All I ask is that you bring an equivalent amount of fresh, replacement sand--or established sand that you may have. I'd prefer the latter for the sake of diversity, but either way is fine. Keep in mind my sand bed is made up of a...

Re: Re-imagined 40g build
Updated coral-only pics. Compare growth and color to just over 3 weeks ago. For once in a long while, I am very happy with the direction this system is going. FTS to come in the next couple of weeks, as seagrass has grown more, too. Pocillopora top-down: http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z107/Amphi...

Re: Starting Up A 40 Breeder
Do you have a standpipe on it? A durso style standpipe would work. If you drilled for more than one bulkhead, you can use a herbie-style drain. I use a modified version of that and I have a completely silent overflow and drain--no gurgling and zero bubbles going into the sump. I can also get 600+ gp...

Re: Starting Up A 40 Breeder
Looks like it is coming together. Waiting for the first signs of water to start filling in. Will be happy to see another marine/reef tank on the greener side--and not talking about algae, either
.

Re: Joe's Nuvo 30L
Looks good, Joe! Looks like things should fill in nicely as the tank progresses. How do you like the Jebao pumps, btw?
