I regret putting that first mushroom in the my tank in the first place. I was new to the hobby at the time. I think I may take the rock out with the mushrooms on it. The other mushrooms are fine...the "non-frilly" ones. They don't like the light to much, so that limits them to the shadows....

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to remove a frilly mushroom without mangling it? I have a population control issue and want to give some to some friends.

Yes. He has a very healthy appetite. He was eating within 30 minutes of being introduced. Doesn't show any signs of stress.

I cannot get a consistent answer on this. Is a double ended bulb better than single-ended? I'm getting ready to buy some metal halides and I want to make sure I'm making the right choice.
I've heard I could get the same light from a HQI 175 watt as a SE 250 watt. Is that true?

I think its a step in the right direction. LED technology has definitely improved and people are finding new applications for them all the time. I think in the next few years more products like this will be available and we will see the gap between them and conventional MH's narrowing.
