white noise ///// sponge i mean

i have a white sponge looking stuff on some of my live rock i dont see it on all my liverock but its been there for about a year or so i dont think it's harmful just tryin to see if someone new what it was or if it is trying to take over the world starting with my tank

i have some of the same stuff on mine. Usually its on the bottom of the liverock near the sand bed atleast thats where mine is..Mine will only grow underneath the rock and its a harmless filter feeder. If you dont like it and it bugs you just scrape it off with something it wont cause any harm or release toxins. HTH

does it look kinda like a cacoon or is it a mat... i have white mat sponge growing in my over flow.. or atleast i will until next week when i move my tank it will die when it gets exposed to the air while im moving... i also have other kind of sponge too... andrew would know what they are called but they are usually just a sign that your tank is doing well...
