I did this by adding more live rock...additional sand (DSB)...and a refugium. Yah, I'm happy.

I have done it...after 1.5 years I have finally reached non-detect nitrate levels!

My father and I are trying to do the same thing,but where cheating with a denitifier. So far the water in the filter is testing almost zero. Hopefully everything will turn out.
