Dauphin Island Sea Lab

Post by SaltnLime »

I was a Chaperone (sp) on my son's summercamp firld trip to the Daphin Island Sea lab today. Yunno, I hate to say it , but it is no wonder kids are growing up with no appriciation or excitement for the marine ecosystem. I was probably one of the most boring trip I have taken in a while and I believe that it was better for me because I could appriciate the details alittle more. We had a scheduled visit to the sea lab and had no tour guide...no live presentations...just a boring 8 minitue intro video that the kids suffered through and a few hermit crabe they could pick up out of a bucket of water and inspect. With the awsome aquariums they have there (huge acrylic tanks) and decent amount of space you would think they would have more interactive child based stuff......

Again.......the kids enjoyed the lunch at the park more that anything,,,and that is sad.
