Killing an Aiptasia Anemone

Postby Brandon on Sat Jun 21, 2003 2:46 pm

Had one Aiptasia come in on a rock with some other coral .. I isolated it to my nano, so I would not get it in my main tank. He was neat to watch, but didn't want them to spread to anywhere else.. so I just took care of him.

Do you use a chainsaw to cut frags? At least you can be sure that it is dead.

Good job,
Scott
Wanted: to set up a tank again.

LOL that is just too much. Between Mikes pliers, your blow torch this sounds like something off of Pulp Fiction.

to the extreme baby...... I like it. Did you use gas?

I think I'll try injecting mine since I cannot get the rocks out to scrub them......... or blow torch them

It was gonna be either that or jab it with a hot soldering iron. This was in a nano, so was really easy to remove the rock. I wanted to get the sponge off it anyways.. No chemicals, or decaying aiptasia to linger in a really small tank. I don't know what type of sponge that was encrusting the rock.. but it is nasty stuff.. their were crap loads of pods living in it though.
