DIY LED

Postby Rebel01 on Wed May 16, 2012 11:40 am

I am going to build an led light kit. I have 36 Cree Royal Blue XT-E AND 24 Cree Cool White XP-G and 4 Mean Well ELN-60-48D Drivers and 2 23 x 4.25 heatsink. I just have some questions aout light balance before I start.
What happens if I get too much Blue light?
What happens if I get too much Cool White light?

And how do you think the following setup would work?
12 XP-G and 18 XT-E LEDs per heat sink. One driver set to 1200 ma for 12 XP-Gs, and one driver set at 700ma for 2 parallel strings 9 XT-Es.

The drivers are dimmable.

Though I am no LED expert, too much white light on my AI lights makes the coral colors totally wash out.

There's a guy on a forum local to me who is far more well read and can help you out a lot with design. Go to http://www.bayoureefkeeping.com and ask JayTizzle for some help in design, if you get no answers here.

Hope that helps!
