Super Glue gel

Postby snoopdog » Sat Mar 27, 2004 9:31 am

Where does everyone get there gel and how many to a pack, also a price if you can think of how much you pay. I went to the Dollar Tree and asked for super glue gel and what the lady ended up giving me was not gel at all.

I've been using Hobbytown's CA in the Medium density. I don't like the little tubes of the gel stuff, they just don't last very long. This stuff is $2 something for a large bottle.
I looked on their web page and don't see it, but they should have it in the store, it says ""Advanced performance CA Instant Adhesive - MEDIUM"
I have the thick also, but it takes too long to set.

I like brandon's idea, because the large gel bottles at hobbytown have a LOT in them, way more than the gel tubes you get at wally world...

The last time I bought, I got it from home depot or lowes, can't remember which, and it was $2 for a two pack.

If you just happen to have some of the regular superglue (not gel) on hand I have heard that you can put it in the freezer and thicken it. I have not tried it yet but I do have some in the freezer now.

I tried the freezer thing but it didn't work out too well for me.

I usually put in on the rock, then dip it in the tank than put the frag on it twisting it in the glue.

I have used many different types of super glue gel, and imo as long as its gel, it doesn't really matter what brand you go with. The main differences will all be in the packaging / applicator, so buy it based on that.
