Re: Alk dosing causing precipitate
Yes it is the regular ESV B-Ionic Part 1 solution. My solution was/is clear and crystal free, but I'm thinking I did add it too quickly and that was my problem. I've heard of using the baking soda but don't really understand how to do it. Could you explain it to me? My pH, no matter what, stays betw...

Alk dosing causing precipitate
Okay, so I tested my water and my Ca+ is 447ppm (Hanna) and my alk was 2.16 meq/L (Hanna). Using an online chemistry calculator to raise my alk to 4.4 which is balanced for my Ca+ reading it suggested dosing 702ml which is about 23oz. I slow dosed half of that and now I've got a white precipitate on...

Re: Sea Hare?
Yeah, I knew it would be a stretch to drive over this way that far just for a hare. Good luck in finding one.

Re: Sea Hare?
Gerwin at Just Fish in Biloxi gets them in pretty regularly if you want to make the drive. If I remember right, they are usually less than $10.

Re: Group Buy Bulk Reef Supply
Hey Chris. Sorry for just getting back to you on this, but I was out of town on business. If you haven't placed the order, don't wait on me. I know in the past the GB's have taken awhile to get in gear, and I was basing on that--not out of two part just yet.

Re: anyone interestered in a battery backup
That's great that they are all doing well. Looks like the Monti cap is actually taking off. As far as the RBTA, those suckers seem to always find places that they like that we don't! The torch is looking very good as well.

Yeah, how big and what did you have in mind? Also, can throw out a pic?
BTW, how are the corals and RBTA doing? All of mine look great. Color still looks very good, which makes my day.

Re: Nitrate and Mg+ testing kits
Yeah the Red Sea Pro kits are great. Very simple titration all in one handed unit. On my two kits (Ca and alk) one goes from red to blue and the other goes from blue to orange. Period--no bloody guessing and it is great. I do like the Salifert for my Mg but I do have to admit that the equipment is k...

Nitrate and Mg+ testing kits
Okay, so I'm looking for opinions on these. I got a Hannay PO4 checker today--FREAKING AWESOME!!! Water testing doesn't get any easier than that. According to Hanna's website they do not have either of the two I'm looking for. Anyway, I use Red Sea kits for Ca+ and Alk. I have a Salifert kit for Mg+...

Everything is looking great Pete. That Garf and chalice are smoking. Wait till the Garf springs up.
How are the frags doing that I gave you?
