Re: Finally - Pics of my FREE 100 gal. Tank

Thanks for the tip. My wife was glad to hear this. She hates the serpent star, and I'm not fond of it either. He came with the tank. Wonder if that's what killed my 1st tiny yellow watchman? I'd rather have the gobies anyway.

Re: Finally - Pics of my FREE 100 gal. Tank

Posting an update. Tank has been doing pretty well from the looks of things in it over the past week. I did lose a cleaner shrimp that I bought the other day. (I think this was due to my poor/quick aclamation). I also had a yellow watchman goby die a week or so ago. He's been replaced and the new ye...

Re: Live Aquaria Group Order

Post when you're ready to order. There's a few things I want. Some aren't in stock though. I think we should be able to get enough stuff to get the free shipping. IIRC you're in Saraland, which is right up the road from my office. I can pickup my stuff after work one day. Still wanting to get in on ...

Re: Nori for a great price

Asian Food Market on Azalea Rd. It's like $1.50 or so per pack; lots of "varieties" of seaweed there as well. Not sure how many sheets to a pack though. I bought some for my tangs, but they died. Interesting place to go and look around too. Edit: The $1.50 packs are only 10 sheets so the 4...

Re: Finally - Pics of my FREE 100 gal. Tank

Let me ask you guys this. In the long conversations, it may have been somewhat addressed; but at some point, I'm going to want to add a few fish again. Since my tank has ich in it and it's not easy or feasible to tear it apart and try to QT all the existing fish; what should I do with the next purch...

Re: T5 or LED... that is thy question.

If you can afford the LEDs, go for it. A few weeks ago, I had to go to Ft. Lauderdale for work, so I decided to check out some LFSs around town. There was one called Reef's Edge that had just got a new LED setup in their coral display tank. They had it off when I was in the store (small store, I was...

Re: Finally - Pics of my FREE 100 gal. Tank

It's either a 20 or 30 gal. sump. Andy could tell you. I can't remember off-hand, and I'm not at home at the moment to measure. He did tell me he could help me set up a refuge in the sump (so it is big enough). Right now, the purple lobster is tiny--maybe 2" long. He's already crawled under a r...

Re: Finally - Pics of my FREE 100 gal. Tank

I'll get Andy to help me set up a refuge. Still gonna wait a bit on fish. I did succumb to temptation and picked up a sexy shrimp and a tiny purple lobster, which I'm going to try in there. I hope he doesn't eat my stuff, lol.

Re: Finally - Pics of my FREE 100 gal. Tank

No refugium; tried the vodka dosing a couple of days but been forgetting. I'll get back on that routine. I don't think I have alot of algae growth in there. Is there something I should buy to stick in the tank? Someone mentioned green algae from petsmart for like $4. I agree on the water changes, PI...

Re: Finally - Pics of my FREE 100 gal. Tank

Thanks for the support. Yeah, I'm going to wait a bit on fish until I get over my frustration and get my nitrates down. Yesterday they were at 80ppm, ugh. I did a 15-20% water change again. I have a feeling it's a combination between moving the tank originally and it still being "relatively new...

Re: Finally - Pics of my FREE 100 gal. Tank

it happens, ive lost a tang, royal gramma, some inverts and a few corals since ive had mine up. takes time to get the tank to "Settle". there is a possibility that your CUC did away with the tangs corpse which would explain you not being able to find it. Give it time and be patient with i...

Yeah, nowhere to be found--checked the sump, changed the sock filter, cleaned the skimmer...just gone.

Re: Finally - Pics of my FREE 100 gal. Tank

Well, I came home and my yellow tang is missing completely...GONE. I got on the ladder and overturned every piece of rock and coral in that tank and it's NOWHERE. What the hell? I was able to find the Thompson tang under a rock when it died. Been checking my water almost daily, done several water ch...

Re: Finally - Pics of my FREE 100 gal. Tank

But to treat the whole tank that means trying to catch about 8 fish out of the main tank and cram them all in that small 10 gal qt tank, which isn't feasible or good for them. That would then mean at least a 30 gal qt tank, and still, putting 8 fish in there together to treat them seems kind of risk...

Re: Live Aquaria Group Order

I have a couple of things I want to get that are currently out of stock, so hopefully they will get some in right around the group order time. Seems as if they are out of alot of stuff right now. Anyone else having issues with this? I have myself on the "email me when in stock" list for th...
